In regards to woodburning fireplaces. Mantelworld recommends at least an 8" reveal for each side of the fireplace and 12" reveal for top of fireplace (always check with your local building codes)
EXAMPLE:
"AA" + 16 = Mantel opening width
"BB" + 12 = Mantel opening width

Please measure as accurate as you can. Your custom mantel will be made to dimensions you provide!
